A Study on Sexual Knowledge, Attitude, Experience of Middle and High School Students


Abstract
This study is to offer the basic data for guideline on sex education by knowing sexual knowledge, attitude, experience of middle and high school students.
The results were obtained from 808 students among the 3rd grade of the each two girl¢¥s school in Taegu city from June 26 to July 1, 1989 by a questionaire and were as follows.
1. The comparison of the score on sexual knowledge, attitude and experience by educational level
The scores of high school students knowledge and experience were higher than that of middle school students. (P <.001)
2. The degree of sexual knowledge, attitude and experience by general characteristics 1) Knowledge
School record was significant differences in all of the middle (P < .005) and high (P < .05) school students.
2) Attitude Touched experience of bad publication (P < .05) and ego identity (P <.001) were significant differences in all of the middle and high school students.
3) Experience
All remarkable differences for middle school students were in religion, conviction of religion, mother¢¥s educational background and touched experience of bad publication. (P <.001)..
3. Sources of sex information by educational level
The most was friend (43.9 %), family (7.9 %) and teachers (14.1 %) were. (P <.001)
4. Sexual experience by educational level 36.9 % of total students had sexual experience; the relationship of opposite sex (24.6 %) and masturbation (8.3 %).
5. The correlation of knowledge, attitude and experience on sex
The scores of attitude (r=0.1212, P < .001) and experience (r=0.1003, P < .005) were rising according to the knowledge score ascent.
The experience score was low according to the attitude score ascent. (r=-0.1151, P <.005).
6. Factors affecting on sexual knowledge, attitude and experience.
In stepwise multiple regression, 18.3 % among knowledge, 3.6 % among attitude, 7.6 % among experience were possible to explain.
